The Durga Puja campaign aimed to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Kolkata while promoting local cuisine through a vibrant and engaging visual narrative. By focusing on the intersection of food and festivity, the project sought to resonate deeply with the local audience.

The creative approach revolved around developing a unique illustration system inspired by the Kalighat style, a traditional form of art from Kolkata. This style was chosen to evoke a sense of nostalgia and connection to local culture, making the visuals instantly relatable.

I chose Kalighat style for its cultural significance in Kolkata, visually striking elements, and storytelling potential. This traditional art form fosters local pride and resonates deeply with the community.
The food illustrations embody the joy of pandal hopping during Durga Puja, depicting locals savoring iconic Bengali dishes in festive settings. Additionally, I illustrated kashphool and dhak, symbols of the festival, alongside scenes of dhunuchi dance and gulal, capturing the vibrant energy and communal spirit that define this beloved celebration. This holistic approach creates a rich visual narrative celebrating both food and tradition.
I took on the challenge of developing the entire illustration system alone, ensuring each piece reflected my vision and the essence of the celebration. By working independently, I was able to maintain a cohesive style and narrative throughout the artwork, creating a unified and engaging experience for the audience.
